MEDIA'S TONGUE TWISTERS

The media in India especially the English language media have displayed one character towards its viewers, that too in relation to its coverage of Hindu, Hindutva, Sangh Parivar , which goes in the dictionary by the term Snobbery. Yesterday at Goa the star campaigner of BJP Mr. Narendra Modi had referred to people with good connections as 'Aquarium Fish' and people who come through the grind of rough and tumble politics as 'Fish of the Ocean'. Manish Tiwari of the Congress was quick to pounce and retort that he was a piranha, a fish that devours the human flesh. Whether Piranha is an ocean fish is itself being questioned. But look at the media they put the name of Rahul Gandhi in the mouth of Modi and went on flogging him for getting personal. While one channel is giving the moral high ground for Rahul, the other is giving electoral high ground to Rahul.
In all this the expression of Piranha may not be all that bad if we see this finding. After, all the terrorists' strikes culminating in the horrendous Mumbai Mayhem, what we need is a group of Piranhas against the barbarians who are literally and figuritively at the inner gate having crossed the historical Khyber and Bolan passes.
